Oracle reduced its workforce by about 21,000 employees, roughly 13%, over the past 12 months, with headcount falling from 162,000 to 141,000 as of May 31, 2026. In a securities filing, the company directly attributed part of the reduction to the adoption and deployment of AI technologies across its operations, and warned further layoffs are possible as restructuring continues. Oracle’s cuts are among the largest of more than 87,000 AI-attributed job losses recorded across the technology industry so far in 2026.
