Researchers evaluated whether Skills, reusable analytical rules generated through the DataCOPE framework, could enhance Codex’s data analysis performance. The study found that Skills improved accuracy on unseen tasks by making implicit conventions explicit, clarifying task objectives, standardizing complex workflows, and converting common errors into checklists. The authors note limitations, however: Skills can reinforce incorrect interpretations, apply only to related tasks, and cannot replace human validation of final results.
