Kaon AI, formerly known as FlowGPT, has raised $60 million in a funding round backed by B Capital, Redpoint Ace, Goodwater Capital and DCM. The San Mateo-based company builds personalized, character-driven interactive entertainment through its flagship app Emochi, which has more than 2 million daily active users spending an average of 150 minutes per session on the platform. Kaon AI operates its own infrastructure of more than 1,000 graphics processing units to generate multimedia content at lower cost than relying on traditional cloud services. Emochi generates about $45 million in annual recurring revenue, and the company says it aims to move beyond static text prompts toward real-time, personalized multimedia experiences.
