A security researcher discovered three publicly exposed databases tied to Sears Home Services containing roughly 3.7 million records generated by its “Samantha” customer chatbot and “KAIros” AI scheduling platform. The exposed data included over 2.1 million scheduling chat transcripts, nearly 1.4 million audio recordings of customer calls, and tens of thousands of complete chat logs spanning 2024 to 2026, along with customer names, phone numbers, and home addresses. The company restricted public access to the databases the day after being notified.
