Zilliz has updated VectorDBBench (VDBBench), an open-source vector database benchmark, to add cost as a first-class evaluation dimension alongside performance. The update introduces four cloud-oriented test cases covering insert readiness and write cost, payload-aware search, multitenant performance, and cold-start latency to reflect real production conditions. A new Cost Leaderboard presents a Pareto-style view showing where serverless pricing versus provisioned capacity is most cost-efficient across different workload scenarios.
