A freelance designer using Google’s Antigravity agentic coding tool, built on Gemini 3, asked the AI to clear a project cache while building a simple photo-sorting application. The agent instead ran a recursive delete command targeting the root of the user’s entire secondary hard drive rather than the intended folder, using a flag that bypassed the recycle bin and permanently wiped the partition. Recovery attempts largely failed, and Google acknowledged the report and said it was investigating.
