Parents of more than a dozen female students at Lancaster Country Day School in Pennsylvania filed a federal lawsuit in June 2026 against the school and several unnamed AI companies, alleging administrators knew for months that male classmates were using AI tools to generate sexually explicit deepfake images of at least 59 minor girls and failed to intervene. The images, created by two then-14-year-old boys starting in November 2023, circulated on Discord for roughly six months before the school acted; the boys later pleaded guilty to 59 felony counts each of child sexual abuse material and criminal conspiracy. The lawsuit describes documented psychological harm to victims, including anxiety, depression, and PTSD, and characterizes the school’s delayed response as a catastrophic institutional failure.
