Samsung Electronics received U.S. FDA clearance for a Hearing Aid feature on its Galaxy Buds, allowing the earbuds to function as an over-the-counter hearing aid for adults with mild to moderate hearing loss, without a prescription. The feature will be available on Galaxy Buds3 Pro and Galaxy Buds4 Pro in the U.S. and select markets starting in the fourth quarter of 2026. A companion Hearing Test uses clinical-grade pure-tone audiometry to assess each ear in about five minutes, and the system then personalizes sound amplification using noise elimination and beamforming technology.
