Nvidia agreed to guarantee up to $105 billion in lease and power payment obligations to support a new data center campus in Ohio that OpenAI will lease from SoftBank-backed SB Energy. The Pike County facility is expected to deliver roughly 8 gigawatts of computing capacity, with the first 800 megawatts online by 2028, and Nvidia will be the site’s exclusive chip supplier while also investing $1.5 billion directly in SB Energy. OpenAI said the project will support 35,000 construction jobs and 2,500 long-term positions.
