Maharashtra’s state cabinet approved an AI Policy 2026 targeting more than Rs 10,000 crore in investments and 1.5 lakh jobs by 2031. The policy includes plans for five AI innovation cities and six sectoral centers of excellence, along with infrastructure support of 2,000 GPUs, regional-language datasets, and Rs 500 crore in startup funding with grants of up to Rs 1 crore. Neighboring Goa separately released a draft AI policy for public feedback focused on tourism and finance applications.
