Anthropic has hired Amir Salek, who previously led Google’s tensor processing unit business, to help build the AI company’s in-house semiconductor program. Salek, who also has experience at Nvidia and Cerberus Capital Management, will join Anthropic’s compute team reporting to James Bradbury. The move is part of Anthropic’s broader effort to reduce reliance on external chip suppliers and address data center capacity constraints as it continues to sign large compute and chip supply deals.
