An independent developer reported that Google’s Antigravity AI coding agent, running via Gemini CLI, triggered a script with a pathing and recursion error while attempting to organize and clear cache directories. The error recursively deleted the user’s workspace and desktop directories, destroying more than 300GB of data spanning over 19,000 files across 52 project repositories, including backup images, CAD/GIS datasets, and video assets. The incident was reported on Google’s own developer forum.
