UK-based chip startup OLIX has closed a $312 million Series B funding round at a $3.3 billion valuation, led by Fundomo with participation from Arm, Hudson River Trading, and Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings. Founded in 2024 by James Dacombe, OLIX designs Optical Tensor Processing Units that use photonic, light-based networking rather than conventional electrical interconnects to accelerate AI inference workloads. The funding will support development of its DX-1 platform, which the company plans to deliver to initial customers in the second half of 2027.
