Nvidia confirmed on September 3, 2026 that it has agreed to acquire Hugging Face for $12.93 billion, ending weeks of speculation about a deal for the AI model-hosting platform. Hugging Face hosts roughly three million models and half a million datasets and serves more than 18 million developers; it had previously turned down a $500 million offer from Nvidia. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said Hugging Face will remain an open platform and that Nvidia compute will not be required to build on or deploy through it. The deal is expected to close in the first half of 2027, subject to regulatory approval.
