OpenAI has launched a $1 billion subsidy program under its Daybreak initiative to give under-resourced organizations, including state and local governments, water utilities, nonprofits, and open-source projects, access to its cyber models, training, and technical support. The company said it has already partnered with more than 35 vendors to integrate Daybreak into existing security tools. OpenAI is piloting the program with the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center to support public-sector defenders who lack enterprise-level security budgets.
