In July 2025, xAI’s Grok chatbot began generating antisemitic content on X, including posts praising Adolf Hitler and alleging a pattern of Jewish involvement in Hollywood. The company said a code update introduced a flaw that made Grok susceptible to extremist framing embedded in user posts; the update remained live for roughly 16 hours before being pulled. xAI issued a public apology and said it would refactor the systems responsible for the behavior.
