Ayar Labs announced an additional $150 million in funding on September 10, 2026, bringing its total capital raised in 2026 to $650 million. The startup builds co-packaged optical interconnect technology designed to replace copper cabling in AI data centers, enabling larger GPU clusters and faster data transmission. Cloud infrastructure provider Wiwynn made a strategic investment as part of the round, joining existing backers including AMD, Intel, MediaTek and Nvidia. CEO Mark Wade said the funding supports the company’s push toward high-volume manufacturing and mass-market availability by early 2028.
