Google is shifting Gemini Notebook from fixed daily usage caps to flexible, compute-based limits that reset every five hours, with the rollout beginning September 2 for consumer accounts. Usage is now calculated based on prompt complexity, chat length, number of attached sources, and features used, rather than a flat daily allotment. Google AI Plus subscribers receive double the standard limit, while Pro and Ultra tiers receive higher allowances still, and the product will notify users as they approach their cap.
