The paper introduces Jev-Mem, an agentic memory architecture that splits control into a lightweight ‘System-One’ controller (fast query routing, retrieval-budget allocation) and a ‘System-Two’ reasoning plane invoked only for complex cases, reducing reliance on expensive LLM generation for routine memory operations. On the LoCoMo benchmark it shows improved performance with substantially faster memory construction and query response times versus existing memory systems.
