Ando, a new team messaging platform founded by Sara Du, launched from stealth with $20 million in pre-seed and seed funding from investors including Accel and Index Ventures. The platform lets AI agents participate directly in workplace conversations with their own identities, permissions, and inboxes, positioning itself as an AI-native alternative to Slack and Microsoft Teams. Du said the app is designed to eliminate “meat proxies,” where humans relay AI agents’ work to teammates, by letting agents coordinate and answer questions within shared channels themselves.
