Microsoft introduced a unified Copilot app for businesses combining AI chat, coding tools, and autonomous agents, organized into Home, Code, and Autopilot sections. The app embeds full versions of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and lets users choose among models from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Microsoft itself. Rather than a flat subscription, Microsoft will charge usage-based pricing for the Cowork, Code, and Autopilot components, a shift from its existing $30-per-user-per-month Copilot licensing. The launch is a competitive response to slow adoption, with fewer than 7% of Microsoft’s 450 million-plus commercial Office 365 seats currently licensed for its AI add-on.
