OpenAI released two new models, GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna, expanding its GPT-6 lineup at roughly half the price of the prior 5.6-series equivalents. Sol targets complex professional and coding tasks and makes about half as many mistakes as its predecessor, while Luna is aimed at high-volume, low-cost tasks like summarization and data extraction. Both models began rolling out immediately in ChatGPT, the API, and Codex.
