AI data center developer Crusoe terminated a $1.25 billion agreement to buy 29 of Boom Supersonic’s 42-megawatt Superpower turbines that it had planned to use as a workaround for AI infrastructure power bottlenecks. Boom Supersonic’s CEO said turbines are no longer part of Crusoe’s near-term power mix, though Crusoe said it would still pursue other turbine suppliers as one option among several. The cancellation is a setback for Boom’s stationary-power side business, which it had positioned as a funding source for its supersonic aircraft program, and comes the same week Oracle filed a force majeure notice over power delays at its own Stargate site.
