Agility Robotics unveiled Digit 5, the fifth generation of its general-purpose humanoid robot built for collaborative work alongside humans without safety cages, backed by more than $300 million in multi-year customer orders. The robot adds a new AI- and sensor-based safety system that detects nearby people and responds by avoiding, stopping, or sitting down, along with 40% more payload capacity (up to 50 lbs) and a 90-minute battery offering a 10:1 run-to-charge ratio. Digit 5 stands 5’11”, weighs 284 lbs, and will roll out first in North America with early access in H1 2027 and general availability by year-end 2027, before expanding to the EU and UK.
