A serving South Korean police officer was arrested after investigators found he had used AI apps to create more than 400 fake nude videos of acquaintances and distributed them through Telegram. The officer was also found in possession of roughly 5,600 pieces of illegal sexual exploitation material, with the offenses reportedly continuing after he joined the police force. The case adds to a wider wave of AI-generated deepfake sexual-abuse material targeting women and girls in South Korea, and drew particular scrutiny because the suspect was a law-enforcement officer rather than a private citizen.
