Dream Labs, a robotics startup founded in 2026 by former NVIDIA robotics researchers Joel Jang and You Liang Tan, announced a $90 million seed round led by B Capital and Kindred Ventures. The company launched Dream API, which converts a robot’s camera feed and a plain-English instruction into motor commands, along with a fine-tuning service and a browser-based Robot Playground. Its foundation model, Dream-1, currently handles tabletop manipulation tasks such as picking, placing, and folding laundry, and the company says it already works with more than 20 hardware partners. The funding will primarily go toward computing infrastructure as Dream Labs expands the range of supported robots and tasks.
