Micro1, a San Francisco-based provider of AI training data founded by 25-year-old Ali Ansari, raised more than $100 million in a new round that values the company at $4 billion, an eightfold jump from its $500 million valuation a year earlier. The round included participation from two unnamed frontier AI labs and two of xAI’s co-founders, and follows an August report that the company had reached a $500 million gross annualized run rate. Micro1 supplies vetted human experts and simulated training environments used by frontier AI labs, Microsoft, Amazon, and robotics companies including 1X.
