Anthropic is in early talks with Meta to lease roughly $10 billion in computing capacity over two years, covering chips, power and data-center systems used to train and run AI models. Anthropic proposed the arrangement in June, and either side could still cancel before an agreement is finalized, with the dollar amount and duration described as subject to change. The deal would mark Meta’s first known external compute lease of this scale, a step toward the cloud-computing business Mark Zuckerberg has signaled interest in building, while giving Anthropic additional GPU capacity to train and run its models.
