Anthropic has launched Claude Science, a beta research tool aimed at pharmaceutical researchers, integrating more than 60 functions spanning genomics, proteomics and structural biology along with access to Basecamp Research’s EDEN biological dataset. Early testers said the tool can compress several weeks of pathogen research into a single Claude conversation, with one reporting analyses completed in roughly a tenth of the previous time. The launch follows the U.S. government’s recent easing of export restrictions on Anthropic’s advanced AI models and coincides with Anthropic starting an internal drug discovery program targeting neglected diseases.
