Anthropic has partnered with investment firms Macquarie Asset Management and GIC to establish Theseus Infrastructure, a venture focused on developing AI data centers across the United States. Macquarie and GIC will fund the bulk of the equity for each project, while Anthropic will act as anchor tenant and has committed to reimbursing consumers if the facilities push up local electricity bills. The initial focus of the venture is on new sites in the US, forming part of Anthropic’s previously stated plan to spend $50 billion on data center capacity.
