Google has rebranded its research assistant NotebookLM to Gemini Notebook, giving it a new blue-purple Gemini-family logo. The update, which took effect July 16, 2026, adds a secure cloud computer to every notebook that can write and run code for advanced data analysis, initially for AI Ultra users before rolling out to all Pro users. The tool, used by more than 30 million people and 600,000-plus organizations, will also gain deeper cross-app syncing with the Gemini app and eventual integration into Google Search’s AI Mode.
