Oracle is preparing another round of job cuts in August 2026, aiming to reduce payroll ahead of the September 1 start of its second fiscal quarter, with some teams facing double-digit percentage reductions. The move follows a 21,000-person, 13% workforce reduction over fiscal 2026 and comes as Oracle’s capital expenditures reached $55.7 billion for the year, up from $21.2 billion previously, driven largely by its AI data center buildout. The company has borrowed $43 billion and raised $5 billion through stock sales to fund the expansion, with roughly $40 billion more in financing planned for the coming year.
