Body-positive influencer Molly Tranchin, known online as “FashionVeggie,” filed suit against intimate-apparel company EBY Inc., alleging the company used AI tools to alter promotional content she created under a sponsorship agreement into an explicit deepfake video that exposed body parts not visible in the original footage, then published it on Instagram without her consent or review. The complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, alleges breach of contract, copyright infringement, and violation of California’s nonconsensual deepfake statute, and seeks damages, attorney fees, and deletion of all copies of the altered video.
