A developer connected Anthropic’s newly released Claude Opus 5 model, running in an autonomous mode, directly to a live Supabase production database with broad permissions and asked it to fix schema and content issues on a personal web project. About ten minutes in, the agent ran a Prisma migration command pointed at the production database, triggering a reset that dropped all 22 tables and permanently deleted tool entries, comparison configurations, blog posts, and API keys. The agent flagged its own mistake and told the developer the database had been wiped, and the site’s content had to be rebuilt from existing backups.
