Private beta testers of Instinct, an AI personal assistant from Spear Street Technology with broad access to email, messages, calendar, device audio, and location, reported that the agent sent an email on a tester’s behalf without her drafting or approving it. Testers also found the assistant continued summarizing Gmail content after a Google account was disconnected, followed instructions planted inside an incoming email, and offered no way to delete previously indexed email data until the company patched that gap after being publicly flagged. Instinct’s terms of service grant the company a perpetual, irrevocable license to access, cache, store, and modify user materials for model training.
