Former Florida pastor Scott Winters sued OpenAI and CEO Sam Altman in San Francisco County Superior Court, alleging that ChatGPT repeatedly dismissed his reports of dizziness and unstable blood pressure during 2025 consultations and advised him to remain inactive rather than seek emergency care. Winters says he subsequently suffered a massive, near-fatal pulmonary embolism linked to the recommended prolonged inactivity.
