Four Savannah, Georgia police department employees, including three active officers and a community service specialist, were arrested after an investigation found they misused the department’s Flock AI-powered automatic license-plate reader system to track personal acquaintances and family members for non-law-enforcement purposes. Two additional employees had already been fired for similar violations weeks earlier. The city’s mayor publicly condemned the misuse, and the case became a widely cited example of insider abuse of AI-powered police surveillance tools.
