Valar Atomics has raised $1 billion in Series B funding led by Sequoia Capital, tripling its valuation to $6 billion. The nuclear startup plans to use the capital to move from demonstrating its reactor technology to factory-scale production of small modular reactors aimed at powering AI data centers. Valar is also partnering with Nvidia on a planned 30-megawatt nuclear-powered AI facility in Utah, following a July milestone in which the company used a nuclear fission reaction to power an Nvidia AI chip.
