Elon Musk said xAI’s Colossus 2 data center near Memphis, Tennessee, currently running roughly 110,000 Nvidia GB200 and 440,000 GB300 chips, could more than double its chip count by the end of 2026. He outlined a phased rollout adding about 220,000 more GB300 chips within a week, another 220,000 in November, and potentially a further 220,000 by late December. Combined with the original Colossus facility next door, the Memphis site could approach roughly 1.4 million Nvidia accelerators by year-end, one of the largest concentrations of AI compute anywhere.
