Wolf River Electric, a Minnesota solar installer, sued Google alleging its AI Overviews search feature falsely told users the company was a defendant in a Minnesota Attorney General lawsuit over deceptive lending practices, when it was not a party to that case. The company says the fabricated AI-generated summary drove away customers, citing one canceled $150,000 contract as an example, and its complaint states it suffered $24.7 million in damages in 2024 alone. The suit seeks $110–210 million in total damages.

A court remanded the case to Minnesota state court in January 2026, and litigation is ongoing.
