OpenAI introduced Dots, a new suite of persistent AI agents built into ChatGPT, at its DevDay conference on September 29. Each agent runs on OpenAI’s GPT-6 Astra model, operates from its own dedicated cloud computer, and can continue working on projects after a user closes their laptop. Dots can be reached through ChatGPT, Slack, or Microsoft Teams, and one agent is included at launch for Pro, Business, and Enterprise subscribers. OpenAI said the agents include built-in safety checks and monitoring, while noting that they can still make mistakes.
