San Francisco startup Freehand has raised $75 million in Series B funding led by Battery Ventures and NewRoad Capital Partners, with participation from Nexus Venture Partners, bringing its total raised to $100 million. The company’s AI agents analyze contracts, communications, and supplier data to decide whether invoices should be paid, disputed, or negotiated, automating roughly 90-99% of such decisions for enterprise clients including Meta, Unilever, Johnson & Johnson, and Pfizer. Freehand plans to use the funding to expand beyond invoice processing into direct materials and maintenance spend across the $20 trillion supply chain market.
