Nvidia is paying AI startup Poolside $6 billion to license its model-building software, known as Model Factory, and has extended offers to 109 Poolside employees who worked on the technology. Nvidia is separately investing an additional $1 billion in Poolside at a $12 billion pre-money valuation, giving it a stake in the company without acquiring it outright. Poolside’s three founders will remain with the company, which continues to operate independently. The arrangement is Nvidia’s third similar non-acquisition deal for AI talent and technology, following comparable transactions with Groq and Enfabrica.
