Pathway Labs announced FDA clearance for EchoNext, an AI tool developed at NewYork-Presbyterian and Columbia University that detects structural heart disease from standard 12-lead electrocardiograms, covering six indications including heart failure and valve disease. In clinical validation, the tool identified 77% of heart problems compared with 64% accuracy for cardiologists, after training on more than 700,000 ECG-echocardiogram pairs. The technology will be integrated into OpenEvidence’s clinical platform, which serves roughly half of US physicians.
