The US Air Force has awarded Dataminr a $318 million contract to provide AI-powered situational-awareness and force-protection alerting under the Defense Department’s A2 Publicly Available Information Alerting program. The competitively awarded contract, selected from eight proposals, is expected to run through June 2031. Dataminr’s technology uses specialized large language models to scan publicly available information and deliver real-time alerts, with plans to scale the capability across all military services and unified combatant commands.
