The issue surfaced when a Reddit user deliberately tested the chatbot’s safety guardrails in December 2025. Bunnings acknowledged the chatbot had given guidance for licensed electrical work, tightened its safeguards, and added a warning above the chat box directing licensed-trade queries to professionals.
