Triple M, owned by Southern Cross Austereo, used AI to source and compile local news bulletins from internet reports, and the system mistakenly identified Adelaide journalist Dylan Hogarth as a fugitive who had assaulted officers and fled custody. Hogarth, who had written the original news story about the real fugitive, woke to messages from friends who had heard his own name broadcast as the suspect on air. Triple M apologized after the error was identified and the real fugitive was recaptured.
