SpaceX announced a partnership with Nvidia to build AI data centers both on the ground and in orbit as part of a new initiative called Starmind. The first satellite, Starmind AI1, will use Nvidia’s Vera Rubin architecture, including Vera CPUs, Rubin GPUs, and the NVL72 rack-scale system. CEO Elon Musk said SpaceX decided to build exclusively on Nvidia hardware because he considers the Vera Rubin architecture the best available, though the company has not given a firm deployment timeline.
