A working paper posted to arXiv on August 12 by researchers including Aaron Chatterji, David Holtz, and Prasanna Tambe analyzes more than 17 million ChatGPT Enterprise messages across upwards of 1,500 organizations through March 2026. The study finds AI adoption concentrates among larger, R&D-intensive firms, and that early-career employees use the tool with disproportionately high intensity across job functions. Usage spans writing, technical work, and information synthesis, leading the authors to conclude that most organizations remain in an active learning phase about how to integrate AI into daily operations.
