Ant International, Visa, and Mastercard announced on September 10, 2026 a collaborative effort to build an interoperable Know Your Agent (KYA) framework for verifying AI shopping agents across payment networks. Each company currently runs its own protocol — Visa’s Trusted Agent Protocol, Mastercard’s Verifiable Intent, and Ant’s Agentic Mobile Protocol — and will work toward shared verification principles so card networks, wallets, and marketplaces can recognize trusted AI agents. The effort is meant to cut integration costs and reduce onboarding friction as AI agents are projected to orchestrate $3-5 trillion in global consumer commerce by 2030.
